Have you heard of Spamhaus? Have you been having problems with your email lately? Check your listing and get unblocked today! Our technical wiz has put this together for us humans to understand! There are many services out there that the public are totally unaware of that can have a drastic effect on the day to day running of a business, where email plays a big part of your productivity. Not many people will be aware of spam blockers. I don't mean your normal software that you use to block or control the spam you receive, but the blocking of YOU actually sending out email. One of the services which hosting companies use is called Spamhaus. This service can block your SMTP (email server) from sending out any emails. You may have the problem now and are still trying to resolve it , and be unaware of what is happening. If you try and send email and can't and it just says, error 5550 or something similar, then you could possibly be on this list by mistake. The process to remove yourself is quite simple and takes only 5 minutes of your time. Then it takes between 30mins - 2 hours to get your email sending back on track. First if you visit www.whatsmyipaddress.com and write down the big number you see on the screen, this is your ISP ip address that you use to connect to the internet. Then type in the following in your browser, www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=000.000.000.000 replacing the 000.000.000.000 with the ip address you wrote down. You will see a list on the page and if you see a link to say you are listed in the PBL database, you can click a link to proceed with removing yourself. Follow the instructions to remove your ip address from this list. You have to enter a valid email address as you are sent an authentication code by email that you will need to enter. Enter the code and then just sit back relax and wait, within 30 mins to 2 hours you should be able to resume sending emails. It may not have effected you yet, but this guide will stand you in good stead should you have trouble sending out emails. If, after following this you still have problems sending out email, then the problem would lie elsewhere and more troubleshooting will be needed.
