Red Nose Day Top 10 Search Favourite
Red Nose Day has been taking the search engine charts by storm over the past week according to figures released by Lycos and Yahoo!, both of which publish ‘top search’ charts. Red Nose Day is already in the top 10 of online searches with ‘Comic Relief’ following close behind.
Red Nose Day is proving a hugely popular search, reaching 2nd place on the Lycos chart published last Thursday. Indeed it appears twice in the Yahoo! Top 10 – once for the phrase ‘red nose day’ and again for ‘comic relief’.
All this searching has naturally driven a record quantity of traffic to the Comic Relief website which apparently has scored over 1.1 million unique site visitors. Some reports claim that £4 million has already been raised via online donations – a figure that far exceeds previous years’ efforts.
One of the most popular searches involves the Red Nose Day fundraising DVD which features some of the favourite Comic Relief moments from the likes of Ricky Gervais, Little Britain, Catherine Tate and The Vicar of Dibley. It also includes tips on how to raise cash on the day.
