Use Pictures When Email Marketing
Our experience with email marketing over the last 5 years has shown that people like images. They respond far better to html templates than plain text and therefore ensure you give adequate thought to the images you plan to use when planning your message.
A great example of this was last year when we returned from our summer holiday. We sent out three email newsletters over three weeks... and here is what happened:
The first of the series, on the 7th September, generated a 20% click through rate with 60% clicking through to see our holiday snaps.
The second, on the 14th September generated a much lower click through rate, with only 11% clicking through for more.
The main message of the first was our holiday. The second was titled "Maximising Your Return on Investment".
